Renewal

In the tall twisted cedar, the early light
Filtering down, mist enshrouded
Like silver kisses cascading slowly
Silent greetings to the gray morning

There's a sweetness in the air though
A gentle humming
As life renews itself, repeats its daily call
A sharp stirring in the branches

There's a bursting of new song
A redefining of old themes
Variations on a familiar tune
Each day different, yet always familiar

The sun warms the ground now
Its golden blanket sweeping down
Picking up the gray, the mist gone now
A sunfresh pink rose, and a door opening
